Greetings, fellow Travelers! The War Within expansion is truly chugging along now. I’ve got multiple level 80 characters and have unlocked the earthen race over the past week. Let’s take a closer look at the recent adventures.
(If you’d like to read last week’s installment: you can do so here)
WORLD OF WARCRAFT RETAIL: THE WAR WITHIN
Lately, I’ve asked myself the question: “Am I switching mains?” For the first time in many years, I’m thinking I might spend more time with my Prot Warrior, Rootbeard, than with my Assassination Rogue, Tipton. Ol’ Tip is still pretty great but, as it stands with the classes right now, I’m getting kind of tired feeling like a glass cannon. I thought that was a Mage’s job. With Rootbeard’s superior health, armor, and decent damage output, playing the game just feels breezier. Time will tell, but right now, Warrior feels more fun.
Speaking of Rootbeard, I quested with him across the Isle of Dorn, hitting level 75 in the Earthcrawl Mines Delve and level 76 in the Boskroot Basin area. I’ve found that by putting your head down, working through Main and Local Story questlines, gathering ore along the way, the levels come fairly quickly.
Root hit 77 in The Rookery (Follower Dungeon) and level 78 around Rambleshire. I earned the Achievement “Sojourner of Isle of Dorn” and noticed that at some point recently I surpassed 15k cheevo points. Not too shabby.
What a croc!
Rootbeard continued blasting along, hitting 79 in The Ringing Deeps smashing Kobolds outside of The Waterworks and in The Warrens. He hit the 80 cap in Gundargaz turning in wax to the NPCs Middles and Gnawbles.
Soon after, while taking part in my first Special Assignment World Quest beating down Ascended Elementals, I unlocked the “Trading Post Enthusiast” Achievement. This finally gave me the Unrelenting Justice appearance collection for grabbing the bonus reward a dozen times. (I also earned this month’s Golden Crocolisk mount).
Speaking of September’s Trading Post, I spent my Tender on the Brewfest backpiece and Brewfest Shield, as well as the Swabbie’s Cap, green Vagabond cloak & hood, and the Ensemble: Trapper’s Munitions.
Sweetwater of Sherwood Forest with her new Ramolith pets
My Dwarf Hunter, Sweetwater, also got to level 80 over the past week – with lots of help from double-gathering. But, more importantly, she put together an awesome Robin Hood-style transmog, complete with feathered cap, wooden bow, and new arrows backpiece from the Trapper’s Munitions.
On September 3rd, after the weekly reset, Tipton finished off the main storyline and unlocked the Earthen race. Thankfully, players weren’t forced to wait until the 10th to unlock earthen like I read online was going to be the case. How can info gleaned from the internet have possibly been incorrect?
The quest comes to a rest…briefly
I eagerly made an Earthen Prot. Pally with blue skin and a steelbrush mohawk and named him Rubblerock (see photo up top). And, somewhat ironically, I’ve spent many hours leveling him in Dragonflight. I’m tired of the past expansion and look forward to bringing my earthen to The War Within ASAP, but leveling dues must be paid. In the past few days, I’ve brought Rubblerock from his starter level 10 to level 40.
Other bits to mention; I unlocked the additional Achievements; “Adventurer of the Isle of Dorn,” “Three Warband Mentors,” “Adventurer of The Ringing Deeps,” and “Khaz Algar Flight Master” – which provides “25% Increased Flight Path travel speed in Khaz Algar.” Hurray!
I’ll wrap things up here and see you again next time around. I hope you’re enjoying the new expansion as much as I am. Now, off with ya!
