Today’s Ancient Rare is Anathemus, the level 45 Elemental Giant who was captured in The Dustbowl in Badlands in 2007. Looking at this shot, I don’t think my Hunter successfully brought down this rocky Rare 17 years ago.

Ancient Rares are World of Warcraft named mobs who used to be identified by a silver dragon around their portrait. They nearly always drop a tasty item upon death and respawn on long, varied timers.
