Greetings ‘crafty friends, and welcome back to another edition of the WoW Diary.
This week, I tried out some new World of Warcraft mods and fired up a fresh Hardcore character. I just can’t get seem to get enough of that crazy Warcraft stuff. Let’s jump right into it! (If you’d like to catch last week’s Warcraft Traveler – you can find it here)
World of Warcraft: Classic Hardcore
If you’ve read past entries of the diary, you may remember that I tried multiple times to level a Hunter in Classic Hardcore. Each time, my journey ended in failure. After half a dozen tries, and a painful death in the lower level 50s, I gave up on the class.
Now that I’ve successfully leveled a Rogue to the cap and taken a few weeks off to recharge – I felt ready to have another go at getting a Hunter to 60. It’s something deep inside. I need to prove to myself I can do it. So, Brewbottle – the Dwarf was born. And after dying to a wolf at level 6 – Brewbottle – the Dwarf was reborn! And, so far so good. I’ve brought this new Hunter to level 14. This is the one. I’m sure of it. I’m going all the way to level 60 with no deaths!…hopefully.
Let’s wish Brewbottle luck…he’s going to need it
World of Warcraft Retail: Dragonflight
I’ve been curious about the All The Things and Auctioneer addons so I went ahead and installed them a few days ago. I’m flying somewhat blind with these mods and haven’t yet read up on all of the particulars. But I’m already finding them helpful, or at least, enjoyable. Auctioneer is helping me find some decent price suggestions for Auction House sales and All The Things plays lovely music when I add a new transmog or item to my collection. If I’m not mistaken, the sound clips seem to be pulled from, or inspired by, Final Fantasy Tactics.
Winter Night on a summer day
My main, Tipton (Gnome Rogue) had the “Last Hurrah” weekly quest that brought him to the Emerald Dream. He ran the Superbloom event and grabbed the Super Duper Bloom Achievement. He also got a lucky mount drop from a seed planting reward: the Winter Night Dreamsaber.
Not only that, after collecting additional reward caches, Tipton upgraded his cloak (Frigid Conservator’s Wrap), gloves (Crystalline Tender’s Gloves), and both rings (Epic quality: Beautiful Blizzard Binding & Snipping Sleet Circle). Not too shabby a return for the somewhat brief time investment.
With my Warrior, Rootbeard, who I consider my off-main (is that a thing?), I continued running old dungeons for the sake of nostalgia, loot, and simple fun. The destinations this week were Stratholme, Zul’Farrak, Maraudon, Wailing Caverns, The Black Morass, Old Hillsbrad Foothills, and Dire Maul. Old Hillsbrad, where you rescue Thrall and defeat the Epoch Hunter (see shot at the top of the post), was a particularly enjoyable blast from the blast.
Maraudon, you are Marau-done!
That’s going to wrap it up for another week, cats and kittens. I hope you’ll join me again next time – same ‘Craft Channel, same ‘Craft station. Be good!
