Hello, fellow Warcraft Travelers! This week, I jumped into more Radiant Echoes events (though I spent less time doing that than I intended), ran some Islands, and ground out a ton of Loamm Niffen reputation. Let’s get right into it.
(If you’d like to read last week’s entry: you can do so here)
World of Warcraft Retail: Dragonflight (The War Within Pre-Patch)
I continued hopping into Radiant Echoes events over the past seven days. I tried to be systematic about everything and made sure each of my alts got equipped with an improved weapon first and foremost. After that was accomplished, I began replacing any character’s gear below ilevel 400. I’ve made good progress on that but still have some work to do to get every alt sorted out.
It’s been funny to see players get used to the various event scenarios and make a beeline for the fastest and most efficient. Single boss battles like Hogger and Stitches being fine examples. When those pop I fly over as quickly as possible, along with a hundred friends, to claim the kill and currency.
Unfortunately, after some sort of bug or exploit reared its head, Blizzard disabled Warband currency exchanging and that has put a pause in my alt-gearing plans. As of this writing, transferring Residual Memories currency is still not available.
Fresh Heritage Armor: You’re gonna like the way you look
Last time, I mentioned getting my Mechagnome Warrior Topper into the events for fast-leveling and that went to plan. He hit 50 in Dustwallow Marsh and then headed off to Mechagon to grab new Mechagnome Heritage gear. Later, he hit 60 in Dragonblight and finally, topped out at 70 on a King Mosh kill. He raked in a respectable 65k Residual Memories currency on the journey.
In a similar fashion, I also leveled up my Goblin Enhancement Shaman, Shockwerk (who was languishing back in Shadowlands) from 54 to 70. Surprisingly, I sold a bunch of his Shadowlands crafting mats for over 2k gold while cleaning up his bank. People are still playing Shadowlands. How can this be?
In an attempt to grab some mounts, pets, and transmogs, I brought Rootbeard (Dwarf Warrior) to Battle for Azeroth and ran a number of Islands. I hadn’t done that in ages. Mythic level solo was the best way to earn Seafarer’s Dubloons but, dang they add up slowly. Not sure I’ll have the patience to keep grinding, but I intend to keep farming now and again for some rewards I never earned when BfA was current.
I owned those bots!
In related Rootbeard news, I finally completed the Beast of the Plains questline with him and earned the mount: Lizi, Thunderspine Tramper.
My main, Tipton finished off Tyr questing by heading into The Nighthold and bringing back Tyr. He earned the title and tabard “of the Tyr’s Guard.”
As an owner of TWW Epic Edition, I got the Squally Gryphon pet. A questline popped up to track down Squally’s color-variant pals. I went on a search around the map and found the additional Gryphon pets; Thundo, Gale, and Flash (see pic up top). Hey, the more pets, the merrier!
Tip joined up with Wrathion and Sabellian who had been waiting patiently for him outside of Aberrus. After entering the dungeon, he helped reforge the Black Dragonflight’s legacy by beating up Obsidian soldiers, freeing Djaradin, and burning specimen tanks. After a drop down into the Edge of Oblivion, Tipton received 2,700 Loamm Niffen rep and the cheevos: “Embers of Neltharion” and “Dragon Isles Pathfinder.”
Aberrus: Tip with his temporary best buds, Wrath & Sab
I expressed my doubts about being able to max out my Loamm Niffen reputation before The War Within released but I was able to do so in a matter of days this week. By using a number of alts, grabbing the Loamm Weekly rep quest on each, and completing World Quests in Zaralek Cavern, I made it happen. That’s all the main reps maxed. Of course, I scooped up the Zaralek pets (Diamondshell, Paulie, and Rango) and mounts (Subterranean Magmammoth & Morsel Sniffer) and received the Achievement: “There’s No Place Like Loamm.”
I also spent three Bullion and grabbed the Jigglesworth, Sr. ground mount (Jelly Cat!)
World of Warcraft: Classic Hardcore
On Tuesday (with retail servers down for extended maintenance), and again today, I spent some time in Classic Hardcore with Brewbottle the Dwarf Hunter. I picked up the flight paths in Redridge and Darkshire and began questing in Duskwood, which is one of my favorite zones. It’s a pleasure to run into a hub and have so many quests available at once.
Brewbottle got to level 23 running along The Darkened Bank killing up Rabid Wolves and Pygmy Spiders. I’ve got my eyes on a swivel watching out for Stitches when I’m out there, so I’m 96% sure I’ll be fine.
That’s going to wrap things up for now, fellow Travelers. See you next time. Keep your feet on the ground!
