A somewhat subdued week this time around as The War Within settles into a regular rhythm of weekly events, Great Vault rewards, tweaks, and hotfixes. I worked on some fishing with my main, brought another alt to level 80, and decided I needed every Mage spec in my arsenal. Read on!

WORLD OF WARCRAFT RETAIL: THE WAR WITHIN
My Main-Main, Tipton the Rogue, is an Engineer and I spent some quality time advancing his skill. That involved scouring through hundreds of Piles of Rusted Scrap and learning every schematic/blueprint available. Of particular note, I unlocked the ability to create the Crowd Pummeler 2-30 mount and the high quality Aqirite Fisherfriend pole.
The Crowd Pummeler is a very cool Earthen mechsuit mount that sells for millions of gold – but as it stands right now – it costs millions of gold to make. You need to buy the parts to create it from a disreputable Goblin at Opportunity Point and they ain’t cheap. The work-around is to unlock the ability to receive the materials via the Pilfer Through Parts skill in the Engineering tree. So, I plan to eventually create one of these Pummelers, but it’s going to be a long, drawn-out process.
Engineers do it electrically
The fishing pole, on the other hand, I made without too much fuss. It’s got +277 Perception and +18 Khaz Algar Fishing Skill and I had my Tailor-Enchanter Snowburst make an Algari Weaverline for it. Now, I can add Seeker and Anglerthreads to it for an even greater Fishing boost.
I got mildly excited with my new acquisition, whipped out my pole, and went fishing in various pools in each zone. My Fishing skill now sits at 177, so I’m over halfway to the cap. Tipton is also the chef for all my characters and having lots of fish fillets at the ready definitely comes in handy when firing up Fishsticks and Fish & Chips and such.
My Off-Main, Rootbeard the Warrior, tanked the City of Threads weekly dungeon, Follower-style, along with my pal, Ceredoric. That went smoothly but no upgrades to speak of.
In alt news, I decided to max out my Demon Hunter, Bellefire, next. She got to 79 with serious questing on the Isle of Dorn. The level 80 cap was reached in Ringing Deeps, turning in wax to Middles in Gundargaz. Belle is my Jewelcrafter and I cleaned out her bank full of old gems from past expansions and threw them all on the Auction House. As of this writing, those haven’t sold out and only 70 gold has been earned.
Bellefire lording over Dorn at level 80
My Warlock, Bottlebox, left the confines of Dorn and ventured into Ringing Deeps where I plan to have him quest out the zone. On his journey to level 74, he somehow ended up with two Profaned Tinderboxes. Those netted a quick 20k gold on the AH. Whee!
My Fire Mage, Cozmic (my Main waaay back in the day), made his way to Hallowfall where he’ll be headquartered and questing. He’s currently at level 73 and barking up the Sunfury Hero Tree.
My Frost Mage, Snowburst, is already at max-level and I’d been trying to decide if I wanted to continue with my Arcane Mage, Brewberry, who was created during Mists of Pandaria: Remix. I already have a Fire and Frost mage. Do I really want or need an Arcane Mage as well? My WoW-addled brain decided, at least for now, I do!
Brewberry feeling the love
I brought Brewberry the Dwarf through the Dalaran madness and into Dorn to join the fun. He hit 72 on discovery experience in Ringing Deeps and I’ve parked him in Hallowfall for now. Too many characters, too little time. But, hey, I’m earning decent gold, buying tokens to play for free, and having fun. That’ll do. Alrighty, then!
Until next time, fellow Travelers.
